Who Is The Vimana Vufo For?

You’re an experienced rider who knows how to attack the mountain, you mostly likely have a penchant for park riding, but your freestyle isn’t limited to just the terrain park- you’ll take on sidehits, rollers… even skiers if you have to.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

Like most snowboards designed for hitting the park, the Vufo takes on a true twin outline. The most balanced shape on the market, ideal for switch takeoffs and landings for filling out your bag of tricks. Blunted tip and tail reduce the swing weight and bring down the overall running length for more manoeuvrability and stability whilst airborne.

Camber has long reigned as the king of pop on the mountain, essentially always spring loaded for explosive movement, there’s nothing quite like it for dynamic riding. Okay, sure, it’s not as forgiving as some other profiles, but if you’re an aggressive and experienced rider you’ll know how to handle it. It’ll be stable and powerful on piste, with an equal pressure down the effective edge.

Despite its main mission being to hit the park, the Vufo works well in powder too. With V-tips at both ends, there’s more volume at both tip and tail. This gives the stick a better flow and also ensures it will give a bit more float in deeper snow.

“Not only does this supercharge the board for a lively and precise ride, but it soaks up some of the vibrations from riding”

Construction and Materials

Yeah, the topsheet’s pretty damn cool (you can thank TheShallowTree for that) but what’s underneath it is pretty special too. Vimana use their Ultralight Core, made of spring poplar wood harvested close to their factory and this is bolstered by a carbon and kevlar weave. Not only does this supercharge the board for a lively and precise ride, but it soaks up some of the vibrations from riding.

Sintered bases are more porous to take in more wax, and Vimana use a high-grade sintered base to allow for maximum speed. Keep it in good condition and you’ll still be slick even in the late season slush.

“If you’re a competent charger who wants something explosive then come right in”

Roundup

Keeping it old school with the profile and the stiffer flex means there is a bit of a barrier to entry here, so if you’re a newer rider who’s still finding their feet then maybe opt out of this one. But if you’re a competent charger who wants something explosive then come right in.
