Rome Viper 2026 – 2027 Snowboard

Why We Chose The Rome Viper:

It’s the most accessible model of the two Vipers. The 3D nose and double-kicked tail are the same as the flagship Pro, but it boasts a mellower flex and a price tag that welcomes the rest of us. Ssssssick!

“Perfect for riders who prefer to pack one deck for everything rather than take their chances at the check-in desk”

Who Is The Rome Viper For?

Riders who prefer to pack one deck for everything rather than take their chances at the check-in desk. And with a men’s and women’s version available – ranging from a narrow 142 right up to a 162 wide – that means almost anyone. The friendlier flex keeps butters and lazy laps fun, yet there’s ample backbone when you open the taps.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut:

Underpinning it all is Rome’s Directional Twin shaping – a slightly longer nose than tail, but with a symmetrical camber profile that’s just as happy riding switch as forwards, which explains why butters and lazy 180s feel so natural. That symmetry sits on top of Fusion Camber: positive arc underfoot with small pockets of rocker tucked in at the contact points, the setup Rome reaches for when a board needs to be playful enough to jib yet precise enough to trust on an icy traverse.

Up front, the Directional Diamond 3D nose does the business in deep snow. Its wide, flat running section curves gradually in three dimensions, so the board floats like a surfboard and rolls smoothly into turns. At the tail, the Double Kick’s two-part rise stiffens things up for stomped landings and stops presses feeling vague. Rounding it out, the Tri-Radial sidecut blends three separate radii into one seamless curve – Rome’s go-to for keeping turn shape progressive and predictable whether you’re carving or slashing.

“The SinterStrong base is built to keep you gliding even if it hasn’t seen an iron for a while”

Construction and Materials:

Where the Pro version runs full Carbon HotRods, the standard Viper swaps in Bamboo Omega HotRods – bamboo rods wrapped in carbon sleeves (which are shaped like the Greek letter Omega, hence the name – pub quiz material if ever we’ve heard it). Rome pitches the combination as the sweet spot between power and playfulness, and that tracks with our own experience on test: bamboo alone tends toward pressable and forgiving, while the carbon sleeve adds welcome snap to your ollies.

Underneath, both Vipers share the same SinterStrong base: Rome’s versatile, low-maintenance sintered option, built to keep you gliding even if it hasn’t seen an iron for a while.

Roundup:

The all-mountain market is a crowded one, so any new models hoping to compete need to be pretty special. Rome’s new Viper line steps up to the challenge – starting with a subtle directional shape that’s bang on trend. The regular version would be our choice for most riders. It features the same trademark nose and tail as the Pro, with a less intimidating flex that you can enjoy every day. Throw in a broad range of sizes across the men’s and women’s editions, and we’ve got a definite crowd pleaser on our hands.

“”Beautiful all-mountain ripper. Great on groomers, lovely in pow. Lots of stability in the tail for landings but still enough torsional flex to have fun and butter around. Good for whatever is in front of ya.”
