Who Is The Ride Benchwarmer For?

Built for the aggressive chargers who want to leave their mark on the pistes and parks, this technical beast favours the intermediate & advanced riders who can handle a tight turn and a strong pop. Available in a large array of size options this unisex board should work for anyone willing to step up to the mantle.

If you spend most of your time either on firm snow, or boosting kickers then this competitively priced performance snowboard might be the one for you.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

Sure, some superstars like Tom Cruise have near-perfectly symmetrical faces left to right, but nobody is symmetrical front to back (imagine that monstrosity…). Because of our natural forward-facing biomechanics, riders may find that their heel-side turns sometimes feel a little looser and harder to initiate than toe-side.

This is where the Benchwarmers asymmetric shape comes into play; The sidecut radius is slightly deeper on the heel edge to help you initiate and control your heel-side turns.

Built with Rides most aggressive Hybrid Camber profile the benchwarmer will allow you to really build up the tension you need in the board to keep it tight and precise through a turn or load up for an explosive pop.

While the small amount of rocker towards the nose and tail allows you a little bit of forgiveness and float when you find yourself away from the firmer stuff.

Construction and Materials

The Benchwarmer features Carbon Array 3™ that, in layman’s terms, means that there are 6 carbon stringers criss-crossed under the binding zones to distribute power to the contact points. This has the double whammy effect of not only giving you maximum board control but also adding additional pop to the board.

The stone ground, sintered base will not only let you run fast but is also super durable, while the new Carbon SlimeWalls feature strategically placed carbon on the sidewalls from the inserts to the contact points to offer increased stability and response.

The pinstripe topsheet brings a touch of class to the proceedings not just in style but is printed straight to the fibreglass as part of Ride’s Topless Construction. By doing away with unnecessary topsheet material the board becomes lighter and more durable.

Roundup

This board is built for firm snow, tight turns and big sends in the park. It’s asymmetric twin shape will help to keep your turns locked in tight while the carbon stringers and aggressive camber profile will give you plenty of pop of in the park.

It may be called the Benchwarmer but if you’ve got the skills to come on at halftime and turn the game around then this is actually a great choice for your everyday, in-bounds ripper that gives you everything you’d expect in the park, but pumped full of extra tech to charge the rest of your resort.

Jonny Russell

“When you just need a board to rip rock-solid piste, boost off massive kickers and never let you down no matter how wild it gets; sub this guy in! Replacing the helix with a new shaped, full camber and asymmetrical side cut; this is the board for the rider with “zero” compromise.”
