A cold brew for a bold crew, this directional ripper from the brains at Lib Tech is bringing the heat for another season. An iced latte on a hot day, an espresso to get you going in the morning, or even an Irish Coffee to get the party started in the evening, like a good old cup of joe, the Cold Brew lends itself to a variety of scenarios. Whether its high tide or slim pickings, you’ll be able to make the most of the Cold Brew’s adaptability across varied terrain.

Of course, there are freeride boards in the Lib Tech line that are more suited to nipple deep powder days, but the Cold Brew is exponentially more versatile than the really specific powder cannons and that’s where its true value lays.

“Just like an actual chilled brewski, the Cold Brew can be enjoyed by pretty much everyone”

Who Is The Lib Tech Cold Brew For?

Riders who want a reliable steed for blower pow, but don’t want to leave it in the garage all season if the snow conditions aren’t great. Coming in a super wide range of sizes, just like an actual chilled brewski, the Cold Brew can be enjoyed by pretty much everyone.

Shape, Profile and Sidecut

As is the case with most powder friendly decks, the Cold Brew takes on a directional outline. It’s not as aggressive as something like the Lib x Lost Retro Ripper, but with its mellow taper, setback stance and mid-wide waist width you can still count on the Cold Brew to have your back when it’s been spewing.

On the other hand, this semi-directional style does mean the Cold Brew is a lot more adept across varied terrain. Those same features will come into play when you’ve been relegated to the hard pack, working with Lib’s classic MagneTraction edge profile to deliver pretty solid traction and nice deep carves.

Lib use their C2 profile with the Cold Brew, it’s one of their most popular choices, again, because of its versatility. Two pockets of camber flank a central rocker zone, this best of both worlds approach lets you load up the tail for extra spring in your ollies, and a gives a longer section in contact with the snow for stability when you’re pushing your limits.

“These offer precision for riding on the line, but they’re not overly aggressive and twitchy”

Construction and Materials

The Cold Brew doesn’t make the most of Lib’s top shelf tech, but at this price point you can’t really complain about that. Pop the hood and you’ll see a blended wood core, combining aspen and paulownia for durability and strength. This is sandwiched between both biax and triax fibreglass weave, these offer precision for riding on the line, but they’re not overly aggressive and twitchy, which matches nicely with the mid flex of the board.

Lib Tech are known throughout the industry for being pretty damn eco-conscious and for this season they’ve kitted out the Cold Brew with their Non Compis Mentis Textured Eco Sublimated Poly Topsheet (try saying that 3 times fast). What is it exactly? We haven’t got a scooby, but it sounds kinda green, right?

Roundup

With the Cold Brew you get a consummate playmate for dream days playing in the powder, but also a workhorse that’ll saddle up for the not so dreamy conditions too.
