Bataleon have form in the creative powder shapes department, but it was the Camel Toe that kickstarted their POW 3BT revolution eight years ago. New for 2021, this freeride classic gets a fresh addition to its lineage with a simple tweak of the name and a whole dose of upgrades. Introducing the Camel 2.
The new shape features a blunt nose and a more modern, sharper silhouette than its predecessor. It’s still positively directional, of course, and the Camel 2 utilises Bataleon’s most powder friendly Triple Base Profile, making it ideal for the deepest days of pure soul shredding.

Unlike the original, however, it also comes equally well equipped to go hell-for-leather and take on more daring descents. Most of the materials have been upgraded in this edition and, although the price jumps, it’s matched by a construction that’ll make light work of corduroy and couloirs alike.
Two carbon stringers emanate from the front inserts towards the tip of the board. These not only stiffen up the nose and work with Bataleon’s Sidekick technology to make every turn initiation super smooth and predictable, they come with the added benefit of dampening the overall ride. When you release the handbrake and let gravity do its thing – all the more tempting with the upgraded Hyper Glide sintered base – the Camel 2 holds true.
There’s another carbon stringer positioned between the rear insert and tail, which increases snap out the turn and pop off the lip. Not that it’s something you’re shortchanged on, anyway. A full-length camber and Bataleon’s Dual Super Tubes (hollow carbon rods which run along the sidewalls) liven up the Camel 2’s rebound between turns and make for a dynamic ride that will reward confident riders.
Intimidated? Don’t be. Bataleon have always been in the business of making snowboards with a single end goal: ones that are insanely fun to ride. The Camel 2 comes with all the credentials to step up to the plate when required, yet never strays from that forgiving, flowing, free-wheelin’ feeling Bataleon do so well.
