Year after year, this one sits on the top of the daily driver pile. From peak to park, the Amplid Singular genuinely can do it all.
Who Is The Amplid Singular Snowboard For?
All-mountain boards don’t exactly come in all shapes and sizes, for obvious reasons – but there’s still a fair bit of variety out there. The Amplid Singular will suit those who like a forgiving end-to-end flex from nose to tail, but more torsional stiffness. The wide sizes added for 2026/27 mean that those with bigger feet can join the party.
“From peak to park, the Amplid Singular genuinely can do it all.”
Shape, Profile and Sidecut:
The Amplid Singular doesn’t feature the brand’s strongest camber bend, but rather a mellowed-out version that is a bit more manageable (with an obvious trade off in pop power and rebounding). That’ll suit all but the most demanding riders, and is a better fit for the board’s mid-table flex rating. A little bit of rocker in the nose comes in handy when trying to stay on top of the pow, but on firmer terrain it’ll feel pretty conventional. Outline-wise, it’s got a very subtle taper, which also suits its go-anywhere personality.
Not ones to do things by halves, the Amplid crew apply ‘Bezier curves’ to their sidecut designs. It’s a process that’s popular in aerodynamic design, and here is used to subtly adjust the trajectory of the edge at chosen points. The result, they say, is a closer compliment to the actual flex of the board at every stage, and therefore serves up better edge hold.
Then there’s that extra width, which is far from an afterthought. Every inch of the Singular’s design was revisited to ensure that the added girth is complimented elsewhere. It’s something you’ll appreciate in every (longer, deeper, tiltier) carve.
“Amplid doesn’t do flashy, but that’s to the brand’s credit.”
Construction and Materials
The folk at Amplid don’t just trumpet game-changing applications of miracle materials – they show their working. Case in point is their proprietary ‘Viscodamp’ system, built to hone in on an observed physical consequence of a vibrating board. Specially-selected polymers are channelled into the build, especially at the nose, to soak up the vibrations before they have a chance to lead to foot pain. It’s nerdy stuff, but you can’t argue with results.
Quite a lot has gone into achieving the Amplid Singular’s fine balance of torsional and longitudinal stiffness, too. The fibreglass is your classic 90-degree grid ‘biaxial’ lattice, but with ultra-thin strands woven through it at 30-degree angles. At slower speeds it behaves more like classic biax, but you’ll benefit from a little extra response when you need it most. An additional boost to the flex in both directions comes from carbon additives, laid up in two separate configurations for extra fine-tuning.
With all this going on, it’s perhaps to be expected that the core is 100% poplar. To do otherwise would be somewhat gilding the lily, plus it keeps the cost down. There is, however, a section of honeycomb-structured material at each end that reduces the swing weight.

Roundup
Amplid doesn’t do flashy, but that’s to the brand’s credit. The Amplid Singular is a case in point, prioritising painstaking R&D over swish marketing. You might need a PhD to independently verify the performance boosts that all their various additives supposedly deliver, but there’s an easier way to check if it works – just strap one to your feet!
A final shout-out must go to the artists at Amplid; the way they’ve differentiated between the directional and twin versions of the Singular is a thing of beauty. While we’re on the subject, be sure to check out the twin version if you’re more freestyle-minded.
Tester Verdict
Pat Nichols
“The Amplid Singular has long been a favourite. Its ability to go anywhere and do anything is almost unrivaled. Now in a wider shape, for bigger-boot fellows like me this was even more fun than before – although I will say I still booted out when I cranked the carve super low.
But that’s an issue that can almost only be fixed by specialist boards”
