(N.B. There are at least twelve egg puns throughout this article, and we’re not even sorry.)
KORUA Shapes do three things better than most: lay out picture-perfect turns, serve up some of the best riding edits of the season, and scramble our brains with a continuously evolving and ever-original line of snowboard shapes. On that last point – say hello to the all-new Überegg.
Following on from the Obelix, the crew at KORUA hatched a plan to tweak the design and come up with something that was both a direct descendant, yet still offered something new for those looking to venture into the world of more experimental freeride shapes.
“You’ll need to shell out €549 if you wanna get your hands on one, but if you’ve been lining up a new shape to add to your quiver this season, it could be worth tapping into the nest egg for one of these.”
It sits in KORUA’s Classic Line, along with their most popular and established shapes. Was there a missed opportunity to launch a new collection? The Free Range, perhaps? The Überegg features a punchy 66mm taper running through its length (a “proper” taper, as the guys at KORUA put it), as well as a full-length rocker profile, a heavily setback stance, and a whole lotta surface area packed into its 157 size.
Note the insert pack configuartion on this thing, too. It’s not quite Nose Rider levels of stance options, but creativity is definitely still the name of the game here.
