North American snowboard summer camps are somewhat of an enigma to us Brits. We all know they exist and we spend the whole summer watching the tricks that go down at them through the power of the interweb, but very few of us have actually had the opportunity, money or motivation to actually go and ride at one. It does sound like a pretty fun gig, with some amazing park setups, pro riders as coaches and loads of stuff to do off the hill between sessions. Mount Hood’s annual Windells summer camp is currently in full swing and the park looks as good as ever, littered with a huge array of the familiar blue and black jibstacles – heck, they even had some new snow!
No revolutionary new tricks in this edit but it’s still early days. If some of the tricks thrown at last year’s summer camps are anything to go by, we can expect some pretty sweet riding over the coming weeks.
