Part two of the Nike Snowboarding Project is here and it’s an absolute belter. Directed by legendary snowboard filmaker Brad Kremer, who has worked with both MDP and Burton Snowboards over the years, chapter two was shot entirely in and around Montafon at the time of the Nike Chosen Sessions. With a right ol’ mix-mash of epic slow motion footage shot on Phantom cameras and explosive park riding from Sage Kotsenburg, Louie Vito, Gjermund Braaten, Jamie Nicholls, Danny Kass, Ethan Morgan, Jan Scherrer, Peetu Piiroinen and Austin Smith, this one had us drooling over our keyboards when we first saw it about a week ago. Nike made it unlockable on their getlacedup site via a tweet to watch function and when we saw UK snowboard filmaker Will Nangle bigging it up on Facebook, it was enough to rouse us into unlocking it early ourselves.
Epic cinematography aside, the riding in this is also top notch. Definitely worthy of a mention is Peetu Piiroinen who sends it to the moon in this and it’s also rad to see Mr. Jamie Nicholls featuring so heavily – 450 onto a rail over a big-ass rock gap like it ain’t no ting! The little run-in with the local law enforcement types on skis at the end is priceless as well – there’s nothing quite like being bollocked only for your teller-offer to then go and make a tit of themselves is there?
