As one of the senior photographers for Whitelines, we’ll admit to having a bit of a soft spot for Matt Georges and you’ll no doubt have seen many of Matt’s photos gracing the pages of the mag and this site on a regular basis. Heck, you might even be wearing his work, as it was Matt who was responsible for our classy new subs t-shirt after all.

Here’s a behind the scenes look at what goes on inside Matt’s head when shooting on location (in Helsinki) with the Pirates crew. Interesting to see that he’s such a big fan of polaroids – he’d feel right at home on the trendy streets of Shoreditch here in London then! It’s also eye-opening to watch how he composes a shot with it’s potential position in a mag considered – in this case a symmetrical composition that could be used as a double page spread. Just shows that there’s a heck of lot more that goes into making a good snowboard photographer than being able to operate the camera!
