What is it with the French? They have a knack of producing obscure adrenaline sportsmen, from wing suit flyers to tightrope walkers to parkour practitioners. Guerlain Chicherit is what you call a nutcase with pedigree. A former freeride ski world champion, these days he fills his time driving bouncy-looking rally cars over jumps, dunes and anything else offering sufficient airtime. Having competed in the Paris-Dakar rally, Mini and Monster energy drinks commissioned him to attempt this stunt in his home resort of Tignes, presumably hoping for a little viral success à la Ken Block. And you have to say, job done. A backflip. In a car. Over a huge jump. Who doesn’t want to see this? As one Youtube commenter put it: “Your move, Redbull.”
