Turkey seems a rather unlikely place to hold rail jam. Sure, the country has mountains and ski resorts but winter sports are still in their relative infancy over there and it’s hardly a place that springs to mind when you’re planning a shred trip. But with the X Games expanding to Brazil and Spain and the Air & Style adding a stop in Mexico City alongside their recent Beijing addition, it looks like the trend of taking action sports to more untraditional locations across the globe is just getting started.
And it looks like the recent rail jam that burn put on in bustling Istanbul drew a sizeable crowd, and with a rad, multi-hit setup and a selection of riders including top scandinavian jibbers Eiki Helgason, Gulli Gudmundsson, Ludwig Lejkner and Len Jorgensen, we’re not all that surprised.
Looks like the riding wasn’t half shabby either, although we do get the impression that the riders were perhaps holding back a bit. Was there no real need to bust out the big tricks or were they intimidated by that chunky mother of a downrail?
