UPDATE: It’s a wrap on the second leg! If you missed the livestream keep your eyes peeled for the report and videos of the top three runs here on Whitelines.
Tune in to the Whitelines.com homepage today to catch the second leg of the Freeride World Tour, beamed to your computer screens live and direct from Courmayeur-Mont-Blanc, Italy. This stop on the 2013 edition of the tour follows the Revelstoke leg that went down around 10 days ago. The skiers are currently tackling the steep and technical face and we will let you know when the snowboarders are set to drop (it’ll most likely be in an hour and a half or so).
Riders like Sammy Luebke, defending champ Ralph Backstrom and three time Freeride World Tour champion Xavier de le Rue are all set to put down runs and if watching gnarly, big mountain riding is your kind of thing, it should definitely be pretty exciting. Freeride competitions are equally about how you interpret your terrain and choose your lines as they are about being technically competent and you can learn a lot about how to tackle such challenging terrain by watching these guys rip down them. Expect Xavier to go hard and fast…
Check out the teaser above for a taste of what to expect from the region and keep an eye on our Facebook page where we’ll announce when the snowboarding kicks off.
