Burton NZ Open – Those judging decisions explained…

http://mpora.com/videos/TKMgcZfSp Last weekend’s Burton New Zealand Open kicked off the southern hemisphere TTR season with some sick shredding from the likes of Iouri Podlatchikov, and Japanese prodigy Taku Hiraoka. But while the standard was high across the board, there was some controversy about the order of the top three finishers, with a few people wondering why Louie Vito’s three back-to-back doubles hadn’t put him in first place. In this vid, the TTR’s judges explain the rationale behind their final rankings, and why the new scoring system they’re using enables them to make calls like that with greater confidence. If you ask us, Taku’s insane amplitude should have won it anyway…
