Urethane is pretty great stuff…
Back in the day it helped pave the way for modern skating by giving riders grip and shock absorption, and more recently in snowboarding it’s been incorporated into board and binding design to dampen rough rides and provide flex and protection. But in the latest episode of Signal’s Every Third Thursday it really takes centre stage.
This month, Dave Lee, Jake OE and the crew build a fresh design with a skeleton core and masses of urethane in the construction, before taking it to Hyland Hills, Minnesota to test.
By all accounts this episode is a full on success, with the short park-oriented whip taking plenty of punishment with a heap of flex and durability. So maybe we’ll be seeing more full urethane design coming into play in years to come…
