Snowboarding in Japan is an experience. As a huge departure from what we’re used to over here in Europe, it would be criminal to go exploreJpow and not immerse yourself in the culture and lifestyle that goes hand in hand with the riding.

This was exactly what Antti Autti was determined to do when he visited Japan to film for his movie ‘Approach & Attack, hooking up with local Takumi Nagai to guide him through the waist-deep powder that blankets Japan’s snowiest region, Niigata.

And although this section takes a little while to get going, once it does, you quickly realise that all of the build up and backstory was worth it. Watch as Antti, Taku, Joel Lahti and Hans Kestilä pick their way through the trees, get pitted, and make us wish we could have just a handful of lines in our lifetime as sick as these.
