Snozone are out to settle an age old debate this summer: drawing a dividing line between their venues in the North and South of England, they are pitting two teams of representatives against each other to claim prizes for their respective territories.
Teaming up with Monster – the concept is no normal rail jam, but a full-on video challenge checklist, spanning snow and skate with two separate legs at Castleford and Milton Keynes. And with the second stop still to come on the 24th of July – we headed down (up) to Cas on friday to get our fill of the action, and gauge the state of play with one event down.
This is no normal rail jam, but a full-on video challenge checklist.
Fighting for the North were the solid team of Gazza Andrews (Captain), Jonny Russell, Carl Howden, Jake Mills and Will Smith, with Greg Lindley behind the lens. Then for the South it was down to Andy Nudds (Captain), Jake Binnee, Will Gilmore, Connor Gould and Neil Campbell – all shot by Max Presky.
With lock-in style numbers in attendance for the quiet Friday evening session – and a few mammoth size features to conquer – the set was primed for a proper film battle; and there’s no doubt that when the edits do drop (after the MK stop), you’re all in for a treat. As well as an impressive snowboarding set-list – the challenges include everything from a 3-set (skateboard) kickflip in snowboard boots, to blindfolded box tricks – and there’s even points up for grabs for going starkers in a petrol station.
With heaps of cash and prizes on the line – after one stop, North vs South is still anyones game in our books – so keep your ears to the ground, and we’ll let you know how it all progresses come July.
