Live in the middle of urban sprawl with little to zero snow? Doesn’t matter, according to O’Neill’s new #RideMore campaign. The American brand are pushing the urban riding scene this winter, because as they say, “everyday can’t be a bluebird powder day”. As Brits, we know this to be all too true.
The idea is that they encourage riders to get out there, find unusual spots and get creative with their jibbing. With snow likely to hit the UK this winter, it’s about time you took a closer look at that rail in your local park you’ve always been tempted to hit or just get out there are build a kicker as soon as it starts to fall.
Here’s a taster from O’Neill to get you pumped for winter – their team riders including Seb Toots and Max Parrot taking on the streets of Montreal (much to the surprise of passing Quebec inhabitants).
To get involved, O’Neill are inviting riders to join in by using the following hashtags:
#RIDEMORE – Upload your pics on Facebook/Tiwtter/Instagram showing what inspires you to ride more. Be in with a chance of winning outerwear, accessories and headphones.
#FOLLOW THE LEADER – Pros will tag a trick of choice online. It’s up to you to recreate your own version. Prizes here for creativity, not Jackass-style madness.
#CITYSPOT – Upload a pic of your ideal riding spot and the O’Neill crew could be down there with a truckload of snow it make it actually happen.
Looks pretty sound to us.
To get the season off to a banging start, O’Neill are hosting their own rail jam in the heart of hipster London entitled the Shoreditch Showdown on Thursday 21 November 2013. They’re building a London-inspired rail garden with a double-decker bus and telephone box as drop ins, plus 50 tonnes of snow are being shipped in for the occasion. See y’all there.
