Now that the Sc0ttish winter has finally wound down – Cairngorm only closed yesterday – and the dry slope comp circuit has begun, it’s time to look ahead to another Go Big Or Go Home.
The comp began back in 2011, when Orla Doolin and co-organiser Matt McCormick took the wins on a soggy day in Glasgow. In the years since the event has seen everything from dryslope doubles to Frisbee-enhanced rail jams, and always delivers truly mind-blowing dry slope riding.
As for the format, it’s the best of both worlds; the jam gives everyone a chance to show what they can do on the mat, before a three-run final determines who takes the top spot.
Further details are still being hammered out as we speak, so we’re not yet sure if the final will follow last year’s knockout format or return to something more traditional. What we do know is that if past years are anything to go by, then this will be a stormer.
It’s all happening on Saturday 18th June, and full details can be found on the GBOGH website – see you there.
UPDATE: Prizes include a week’s holiday for 2 with Propaganda Chalets, a one-of-a-kind Douk snowboard, cold hard cash from Treeline Chalets, and assorted swag from headline sponsor Freeze Pro Shop.
The format is confirmed and can be seen here. The forecast is looking good for Saturday, and the BBQ will be firing. Don’t miss out!
