Jamie Nicholls wins Ride Shakedown!

While the US Open was in full flow across the pond this weekend, the UK’s Jamie Nicholls headed to Garmisch to get stuck into the Ride Shakedown Jam. The boy’s been on fire recently, and all the hard work paid off: Jamie crushed the competition to take 1st place.

This is a huge result for Jamie. Not only has he won his first ever 4-star TTR event, he won a comp designed to reward consistency and versatility like few others do.Like most slopestyle events, rails and jumps  are both factored into the overall score, but there’s more to it than that. Not only is the score an accumulative total of three judged runs, riders have to call exactly what tricks they will do before they drop. Furthermore, no tricks could be repeated during any of the judged runs. Those without a deep stack of bangers need not apply….

In the end, Jamie landed all his judged runs to finish with a whopping 54.8. To put this in perspective, the next-nearest score was a 41.8, and the only other rider in the top 5 to land all three runs got 41.0! In short, Jamie killed it.

Now he’s off to Tignes to take part in his first European X-Games, and coming off such a big win will no doubt set him up perfectly for the event. We have a good feeling about this one….
