Best ever park setup at the Lecht

It’s been a rare start to the season for the Scottish slopes, with all five hills already enjoying good days. The Lecht deserves a special mention though; while it may be Scotland’s smallest skifield, it’s made the biggest effort to get the freestyle side of things going. After putting in the hours, they’ve crafted what must be their best ever freestyle setup. Frazer Rennie was up this Sunday and sent us the proof:

Don’t let the blue skies fool you; that is indeed the Lecht, enjoying full snow cover and no less than three kickers underneath the chairlift. Local riders Nicol Paton, Mark Ruparelia, Seb Innes and Gordon Adam were among those taking flight at the weekend:

Nicol Paton sends it in the last of the sun

There’s also a rail line featuring down-flat-down, rainbow, up-down and pipe rails. Taken as a whole this could be perfect for a Torstein-style followcam run, no?

Do your run, then watch the rest from the chair on your way back up – it’s like Mayrhofen with wooden fences

Fingers crossed the white stuff sticks around a bit longer. Given what the Lecht locals can do when there’s bugger all snow, we could see some great stuff on this setup. Get up there if you can, or in the meantime take a look at more of Fraz’s pics below:
