It’s that time of year again; Westbeach Snowflex Freestyle series is back! With 3 of the UK’s best dry ski slopes hosting the events, this series kick-starts the winter. This year’s Snowflex anticipates the cream of Britain’s snowboarders to come and lay down some big switch underflips and clean BS 9’s. The Westbeach team are going to be hitting the slopes in force to show us what they can do and give out some tips.
With the huge success of last year, you need to clear your diaries, grab your board and head down to the biggest event held in the UK dry slope scene. There are loads of prizes to be won, including some big rewards from Westbeach. Click for the dates and for further info.
10th September: The series gets started off by Halifax Ski Centre; this place is home to one of the best snowflex kickers around which gives riders more than enough air to throw down some jaw-dropping tricks.Westbeach Snowflex Series 2010 in Halifax saw Andy Nudds win the men’s comp by holding down a perfect 9 whilst Sophie Addison won the womens by sticking a huge back 3. The slopes sure to have a loud and lively crowd to keep the riders stoked on trying harder tricks.
8th October: Next Westbeach is going to touch down at Aberdeen Snowsports Club. Some people say that Aberdeen’s slope is the upgrade from Halifax, with all its flaws sorted out so you can get some sick lines. The atmosphere here is going to be buzzing with so much talent to watch. This stop is going to feature all sorts of local and national riders who are aiming to grab the prize purse. Westbeach Snowflex Series 2010 in Aberdeen saw Marc McClement get first in the men’s event and Sophie Addison get her second win of the comp.
5th November: For its final destination, the series is heading to Bearsden Ski Club in Glasgow. Just in time to start bringing in the snowboarding season, Bearsden have sorted out some sick boxes and kickers for you guys to try out. Again, some big prizes to be won from Westbeach to name a few. Bearsden’s going to have the likes of a DJ, a crowd, beer to help the crowd and what hopes to be a huge party to close the competition. Marc McClement stomped first place in the men’s and Lynsey Ashdown got her first win.
This series is one not to be missed and is sure to show us some huge talent from national and UK riders.
