A short while back, we reported on the birth of The Rider Social snowboard camps, based out in the Portes du Soleil, in France. Recently, the camps’ organisers, who are aiming their package at older riders, hit us up to let us know that their chalet has been given Official Test Centre status by Never Summer Snowboards.
This means that anyone heading out on one of the freestyle courses or staying in the chalet can test any board from the Never Summer range absolutely free. Which is pretty cool. Never Summer, whose boards are all hand made in the USA, don’t give out test centre status to any Tom, Dick or Harry who asks, so The Rider Social boys are understandably stoked to have been picked. Paul, who runs the show, explained: “We are the only place in the Portes Du Soleil (if not France at the moment) where you can demo these hand built sticks.”
That said, they’re also keen to share the love a little bit, and they’re offering anyone who drops in through their doors in the Portes du Soleil the chance to ride a NS stick for a day, regardless of whether they’re part of the Rider Social or not. On top of that, to celebrate the fact that they’ve been given Test Centre status, Paul and his crew are offering Whitelines readers a 15 per cent discount on all their Rider Social weeks.
