Last weekend saw a lull in the wind at Glenshee and allowed a carpark full of snowsports lovers to enjoy the opening weekend.
Glenshee had excellent cover for its opening weekend, with all the open runs in good condition (although it got a bit heavy later on in the day). There was some good off piste (consolidated powder) to be had in between the runs, although it was more breakable lower down.
All 3 valleys appear to have good cover, but the biggest problem is getting round to pisting, de-icing and opening all the runs.
Hopefully by next weekend Meall Odhar, Coire Fionn and Glas Maol runs will be opened giving access to all three valleys.
Aside from the conditions it was great to see the the car park full again at Glenshee. After a poor season last year Glenhsee could do with a few more packed weekends like that one…. and I don’t think one person would complain about the qeues either!
