Per Loken has ended his pro career after seven years riding for Rip Curl.
Inevitably the talent and attitude that he has brought to the snow division will be greatly missed, Rip Curl said: “This is closing an amazing long term relationship during which Per contributed so much to help us in our development, and we are sincerely grateful for his devotion. He will definitely have a special place in our heart.”
The Norwegian rider talks about his incredible journey with Rip Curl: “From walking at the beach in Abkhazia and trekking in the Himalayan mountains, Rip Curl has given me the chance to live out my dream as a professional snowboarder.”
Per talks about his experience in the Himalayas as one of the most epic adventures he has had in his career as a pro-rider. The story appeared in Whitelines last season.
From park to pow Per was known to take on anything that he came across. Growing up next to the local resort of Varingskollen Per started riding from an early age. Now he retires from the limelight and goes off in search of his own fresh tracks. Good luck!
