Jake Blauvelt is without doubt one of the most exciting riders out there at the moment. Having cut his teeth on ridiculous kickers and icy landings he has made it his mission to be the king of natural terrain freestyle and has nearly got there. Jake has ridden for Oakley eyewear for about 10 years and has now joined the Pro Rider Series team for outerwear and will be riding along side Scandi rippers Eero Ettalla and Eiki Helgasson. Each rider brings their own style to the team and helps develop their own line to complement how they see their riding.
“I can’t even describe how stoked we are to have Jake on the Oakley Outerwear program. If I could pick any rider in the world, it would be Jake for sure. Welcome to the team bud, your a perfect fit for Oakley!” raved Eero about the new signing.
This looks to be a cool new relationship and we’re looking forward to seeing what Jake can produce as Oakley make some pretty cool gear and a back country freestyle edge could be a very interesting development. Soc it to us buddy, let’s see what you got!
Check out Jake tearing up the BC backcountry with Terje in this webisode of ‘Tracking Eero’. There may be a few patted down lips but I dont think there is a kicker in sight and there is still some brilliant moments- the smooth ass frontside 3 at 3:37 and the backside 5 off the cliff at 3:55 are mildy arousing.
