Cover My Cast – Make your injuries look better

There’s an old saying: “If you’re not falling over, you’re not trying hard enough.” And while there’s a fair bit of truth in that – progressing your riding is always going to involve the occasional tumble – it sadly means that injuries are pretty much inevitable in snowboarding. We at Whitelines get sent so many gruesome pictures and nasty stories each month that we could fill our ‘Injury of the Month’ column twenty times over. As shredders, if we haven’t been injured ourselves, we all know at least one person who’s been laid up for a good while with an arm or a leg in plaster. Which is why we were interested when this company, Cover My Cast, hit us up recently.

They’ve come up with a novel way of making the injury experience slightly more bearable – or at least a little better looking. They produce a range of sleeves and stuff which you can stretch over your cast to make it look, you know, cooler. Or at the very least, a bit brighter. Their covers also take the roughness off the plaster, which they reckon stops it from fraying your clothes when it rubs against ’em. But possibly best of all, they also produce a ‘cast cooler’ which apparently “helps draw cool air through your fibreglass cast and eliminate smells and itches real fast”. And as anyone who’s ever gagged and retched at the smell when a cast comes off knows, that’s a pretty big plus. Check out cover-my-cast.com for full details.
