Boom! The organisers of the Brits emailed us recently to let us know that they’ve added still more big name DJs to their banging line-up. The mighty DJ Yoda, the man behind the legendary How to Cut n’ Paste mixtapes will be bringing his new audio-visual show to the mountains for the Friday night session. And he’s far from the only crazy turntablist getting involved. Wednesday night will see DJ Cheeba take to the decks, bringing another mad mashup of beats and visuals. This is a man who thinks nothing of throwing Muddy Waters and Methodman into the same set, or crunching together classic reggae tracks with Japanese manga samples. That might sound weird, but it works – have a look at his latest AV mix here if you don’t believe us.
Pretty sick eh? And that’s not all, Monday night will feature sets from various members of the Scrath Collective, including the beat-juggler extra-ordinaire Mr Thing. As well as being one of the original Scratch Perverts, Thing has played with pretty much every turntablist in the business. Last time Whitelines saw him live, he had an entire boat-load of Croatian party-goers singing along to every line of every tune. Bottom line is this dude knows better than anyone how to get a party started.
And of course, all of this is on top of the Whitelines – Protest punk party which, we can reliably assure you, is gonna end up looking something like this. Oh, and then there’s the snowboarding.
