We hate to admit it folks, but Autumn is just around the corner. That frustrating point of the year where it’s no longer sunny enough for summer shred, but not cold enough for fresh snow, and let’s face the facts, it’s probably going to rain a fair bit.
It’s also pretty likely to be the time when most of us in the UK haven’t seen the mountain for so long that we feel like Renton mid-withdrawal in Trainspotting:
Luckily for us the snowsports industry at large is pretty clued up to this fact and has put together not one, but two events with everything you could possibly need to sort out your fix this Winter, and take the family for a great day out as well…
With 5 days in London, and 2 days in Manchester added for this year’s event, the Ski & Snowboard Show features ice rinks, a ski slope, tubing and curling; there’s inflatable kid’s slides and real huskies and reindeer to pet, which can all be used to distract from the fact that the parents have quietly slipped off to the bar.
Hosting 250 stands, with everything from instructor courses to shops, you can pick up this year’s gear, and sign up to as many ‘Win a trip’ competitions as your heart desires.
Tuition is available on the day too so you can brush up if you’re feeling rusty: there’s basic classes for everyone 7+ and Onyx are running freestyle for over 11s. Maybe they should update this now that 14 year olds are getting X games medals…?
