Inside Track: Breckenridge

“There are some good steep open pow lines to be found up the top of Peak 8 that require just a wee hike up from the Imperial Express lift. From there you can drop left, round to the bowl and down to Peak 7. There are some good kicker-building spots as well, or you can traverse hard right to find some good steep runs. You’ll need to get up early for these or you’ll definitely miss the freshies. Most of the stuff that is accessible by lift is fun, but there’s nothing that’s all that amazing. Either there’s some steep followed by too much flat, or it’s just not steep enough, or there are too many trees to really send it. In my opinion it’s not all that good for riding pow. It is good for cruising through the trees though. That’s one thing I love doing here, blasting down trails that are already tracked in – sending it boardercross-style through the trees, you know?”
