Early Season Snow Photos 2013

Aimee Fuller is over in Aspen. Yep, that’s what it looks like there. Right now. Photo: Aimee Fuller

We’ve been hearing a lot about epic amounts of early season snow falling over the Alps and North America these past two weeks. Whistler opened 13 days early after a huge dumping of fresh pow last month. Both Verbier and Chamonix opened up in mid-November for weekend riding. Facebook is already filling up with photos of freshies in Morzine and untouched faces in Aspen.

So we’ve selected some sick early season snow photos to get you pumped for winter, courtesy of a number of resorts and riders across the Northern Hemisphere. Thank god it’s Friday, otherwise I don’t think we’d be able to cope…

Are you already out in the mountains? Taken a sick picture of the early season conditions? Send it to us at [email protected] and we’ll include in next week’s post!

Photo: Avoriaz 1800

Good morning Avoriaz! This was captured by the French resort two whole weeks ago at 7.45am with 50cm of fresh pow…

Photo: Ben Kilner

Halfpipe stomping Brit Ben Kilner is out in Copper Mountain, Colorado for some pre-Sochi training. Lookin’ pretty fresh out there!

Photo: Big Mountain Adventures

Yep, just another day in the office for the fellas at Big Mountain Adventures. Bluebird skies and freshly dusted terrain. If only teleportation existed…

Courchevel Officiel reposted this amazing shot on their Facebook page by photographer Alexis Cornu from opening day, Saturday 23rd November.

Photo: Park City Mountain Resort

Over in Park City, Utah, the grooming manager has his work cut out for him. This photo was taken on Tuesday when there had been 12 inches in 24 hours. Sweet.

Photo: Les Deux Alpes

Just look at that corduroy in sunny Les Deux Alpes. More grooves than a pair of golfer’s pants.

Photo: Mayrhofen/Hippach im Zillertal

Unusually peaceful view of Mayrhofen from last Sunday. Just look how deep the pow is there already!

Photo: Silverton Mountain

Don’t let their funny American date system fool you. This photo was taken yesterday at backcountry mecca Silverton, Colorado. Silverton’s Twitter account assures us there’s 2ft in the car park alone with a lot more on the mountain. And it’s a cool -20°C over there. Brrrrr….

Photo: Val d’Isère Téléphériques

Sweet S-shaped lines in Val D’Isere last week. Wish you were there?

Photo: Whistler-Blackcomb

Last but not least, the Whistler-Blackcomb terrain park crew posted this beauty up on Facebook from 27th November. The full park is ready to ride over there right now!
