Would a heated base make your board go faster? This is the question our favourite board meddlers are toying with today on Every Third Thursday. Last month, the Signal guys made a board entirely of paper. Now they’re switching things up with heat!
A couple of years ago, they tried to make a board with heated edges. How? Well, by sticking what looks like paperclips to the edge of the board and attaching it to a battery. It didn’t work.
This time, they’ve got found a new heated film that gets up to 130°F degrees (54°C) which they can cut and stick to the base of the board. The theory is that it will melt the snow beneath the board as they ride, thus making it slippier and faster.
Does it work second time round? You’ll have to watch and find out…
