The British Snowboard Slopestyle Indoor Championships went down in mid-October up at the Chill Factore in Manchester. 22 guys and 12 girls battled it out on a set-up split into four zones for a thigh-burning 90 minute jam before half the competitors progressed through to a more zone specific jam session. Eventually, as is the nature of competition, competitors were told to “throw down to stay in” and soon enough we were down to the final few to do battle. Some impressive moves were sent down with a smooth FS 180 to 50-50 to FS 180 out looking good and a big BS 720 Mute being stand out tricks.
This year the standard was huge once more with some young kids really pushing themselves with some progressive riding. Every year this event keeps delivering the goods and this year was no exception. However, it was the technical tricksters that came away victorious.
Calum Paton took the top spot for the men with last years women’s title winner, Becky Menday only just making the podium this year with Rio Peterson instead taking 1st place.
