The 3 founders of Von Zipper cut their teeth at an unnamed sunglasses and goggles company, before deciding to switch up the formula (and the way that sunglass marketing was perceived) by creating their own brand. And hey presto! VeeZee Inc was born.
They were so successful in their first year of trading that it took a mere 12 months for the gargantuan Billabong Inc to buy ‘em out for a major share in the newly founded company. With the cash injection that Billabong provided to the founders, enabled them to move out of their garage and truly focus on the product.
With their backgrounds in surfing, skating, BMX, snowboarding, MotoX and just generally being rad, it didn’t take long for their product line to take off and grace many a mountain, park and beach across the States and on our wee continent of Europe. They’ve got a heavy backcountry roster of riders including Halldor Helgason, John Jackson, Hana Beaman, Eric Jackson and BYND x MDLS very own Tor Lundstrom from Sweden in their growing talent pool.
