Grenade glove started as an idea on a chairlift in 2001 and is now a worldwide grassroots movement of expression, creativity and individuality.
From early glove prototypes, DIY streetwear and stencils made from scraps of cardboard, grenade has come to be one of the most successful rider ran snowboard brands of all time. Grenade symbolises the punk attitude of co-founder Danny Kass who wanted to make genuine snowboard products and the ultimate snowboard glove.
Grenade went global in 2002 and has grown in popularity as the Grenade team have gained exposure at events across all over the world. This is probably helped by the fact that Danny Kass has 5 US Open Championships, 7 Winter X Games medals and 2 Olympic silver medals to his name! Peace, love and shredding are Grenade’s key principles and their online army of followers, the Grenade Army has over 15,000 soldiers who embrace the Grenade lifestyle.
Grenade is a brand for today’s youth culture who are expressive, rebellious and confident. They regularly feature collaborations with punk rockers such as Bad Religion and other action sports stars such as the motocross Metal Mullsha crew. Camouflage, tie dye and bright, psychedelic colourways make Grenade gloves stand out from the crowd. Grenade gloves won’t make you yawn, they turn the volume up to 11 and their punk style has become a favourite of riders all over the world.
Grenade have also been hosting their own version of the Olympics since 2005. The Grenade Games is more of a snowboard festival than a serious competition and features events such as freestyle slalom alongside your usual slopestyle and halfpipe competitions.
