Back in September, instructor course company Peak Leaders teamed up with Burton snowboards and have since been racking their brains for ways to benefit from their unique position in the snowboard industry. They came up with the idea to pair up their trainee instructors with a Burton pro and had Irish rail destroyer Orla Doolin out for a day with both their Avoriaz and Verbier based trainee instructors.
Orla has more or less cleaned up at most of the rail-based freestyle events here in the UK, winning no less than three out of four of our Whitelines November Knockout competitions at the tail end of last year and by the look of things, all of the instructors were able to learn a thing or two after spending a day shredding with her, whether that be mustering up the courage to try a new trick or feeding off Orla’s positive energy and ‘try til you die’ approach to snowboarding.
But over on the continent isn’t the only place where Orla has been making waves. Last week she also scored some mainstream media coverage by landing a double page spread in the Irish newspaper The Sunday Independent, which caused such a stir that she also had a live telephone interview on breakfast TV the next day – result!

You can currently catch Orla out in Bear Mountain where she’s been crawlin’ the terrain parks for the season.
