An in-depth review of the Oakley Flow Scape snowboard goggles for 2025-2026, this is as hi-tech as you can get.
Conical lenses have entered the building! It’s the first new configuration in a while, but based on what we’ve seen so far, it’s definitely been worth the wait.
“Oakley reckons that you get a 60% bigger field of vision with the Flow Scape than the Line Miner”
Fans of bleeding-edge tech will want to try this new approach to goggles – but if you’re after something with bonus sustainability points, the frame is made from bio-resin.

The cone-shaped lens sits slightly further from the face up top, but gets closer as it moves down. What this does is offer up an increased field of view across three areas. The higher section of lens is what you’ll be using for most of your riding, while the additional peripheral vision at the sides gives you peace of mind on busy pistes. Down low isn’t relied upon as often, but comes in handy from time to time. Oakley reckons that you get a 60% bigger field of vision with the Flow Scape than the Line Miner, which isn’t exactly a slouch in that department.
The lens isn’t just upping the field of vision, either – it’s also pretty much guaranteed to banish distortion and fogging, largely thanks to its single-layer design. We also straight up love Oakley’s Prizm lenses, which have always been among the market leaders in terms of clarity and durability. There are tons of options from which to choose, and every pair of Flow Scapes come with a spare.

It’d be a shame to put all that effort into IMAX-esque visuals, only for the foam on the frame to be peeking in through your peripherals. With that in mind, the Oakley Flow Scape goggles use brand new ‘Vision Rapt’ foam, which is cleverly positioned to stay out of sight (as well as feeling good against your skin).
Changing the lens is a piece of cake thanks to the simple but effective lever system, with two locking points for extra security. You can do the whole thing in thick gloves, so even in the gnarliest conditions you can prioritise having the right lens.. Unlike some Oakley models, there aren’t any magnets here, as apparently they would encroach on the field of view.
Just like the frame and carry bag, the Oakley Flow scape strap material is recycled (other than some elastane for stretch and silicone for grip) and boasts an array of different styles and colour options.

In the goggles world, we’re used to seeing incremental progress. Compare today’s options to the gear page in a magazine from the ‘90s, and they’ll look like they belong to two different species – but for the most part there was just lots of small tweaks, rather than big leaps forward. Every so often, though, that’s exactly what happens; think the advent of ‘frameless’ versions, or tints that change with the weather (and even the touch of a button).
Will the arrival of the Oakley Flow Scape’s conical lens become another such watershed moment? It’s too early to tell, of course, but it’s definitely one of the more exciting things to enter the market for a while.
“I often find that when I wear good goggles I don’t notice them, and that’s been the bar by which I judge whether they’re good or not for a while now… However the Flow Scape goggles have blown that method out of the water as I immediately noticed just how large the field of view was on these without major distortion. They’re absolutely amazing – super comfortable, and with crystal clear vision. I’d highly recommend them!”
