Why We Chose The Bataleon Mosh BOA: It’s a fresh take on women’s all-mountain boots that brings a perfect blend of style and substance – and challenges the established players.

Bataleon’s venture into snowboard boots has been eagerly anticipated, and the Mosh BOA doesn’t disappoint. Just as they did with their Triple Base boards, they’ve put serious thought into the whole question of form and function, combining versatile mid-flex support with eye-catching aesthetics. There’s a lot to be unpacked here, let’s dive in…

“We’re stoked to see a new snowboard from Bataleon; these guys always bring something different to the game”

Who Are The Bataleon Mosh BOA For?

With its goldilocks flex, the Mosh BOA is perfect for those who split their time between resort shredding, park laps and the occasional powder day. If you’re looking for a statement boot that can keep up with your progression across various terrains without pigeonholing you into a specific riding style, this one deserves your attention.

Shell & Outsole

Bataleon has thrown a bunch of high end tech at the Mosh BOA’s construction, starting with a ‘seamless’ upper that minimises the amount of stitches. The result? It’s more durable, more waterproof and it looks sick. TPU-injected reinforcements in the toebox and backstay offer durability and support in high-wear areas, while the Future Flex construction maintains consistent articulation.

The dual BOA lacing system is pretty much the industry benchmark at this point, allowing for independent adjustment of the upper and lower boot zones. This means you can dial in a precise fit that caters to your unique foot shape, and together with Bataleon’s pressure relief tongue you can enjoy excellent all-day comfort with zero pressure points.

Underfoot, the rubber outsole provides reliable traction in the slipperiest of lift lines, while an EVA foam midsole offers cushioning and impact absorption – crucial for those big landings or choppy end-of-day runs. Rounding out the features is Bataleon’s Thermal Shield technology (which keeps toes toasty even in the coldest conditions) and an ergonomic entry design. This last point might seem like a small detail, but whether you’re hustling for first lifts or sinking back into the couch at the end of a long day on the hill, you’ll appreciate how easy it is to slip these boots on and off.

Liner

Confusingly, the Mosh’s ‘Premium Liner’ is not actually Bataleon’s most advanced model, but to be fair it’s still loaded with tech. It’s fully heat-moldable for a custom fit, and features a Toe Hugger section up front for even more snugness (hey, it’s a word – I’m rolling with it).

Internal heel support comes in the form of strategically placed J-bars and a quick-pull harness system. This combination works to eliminate heel lift, ensuring responsive edge-to-edge transitions and reducing foot-fatigue. The liner also boasts a double-velcro closure design that keeps the tongue firmly in place.

Roundup

While there’s a lot of existing competition in the women’s all-mountain boot category, the Mosh BOA arrives as a strong contender. It successfully blends style, comfort, and performance in a package that will appeal to a wide range of riders. Sure, Bataleon is the new kid on the boot block – which means long-term durability remains to be seen – but since they’ve partnered with respected product designers and trusted technologies (like BOA) we’re confident they can go toe-to-toe with the established brands.
