He’s also one of the few kiwi riders who’s broken through onto the international stage, along with the likes of Stef Zeestraten. In the last couple of seasons Jake’s made a name for himself by riding and filming in North America, putting in what looks like a sick part in the heli-tastic Sandbox Productions’s latest film Now You Know. Of course it probably helps that he’s sponsored by Red Bull, the people behind this profile video. But like a lot of New Zealanders (many of whom probably deserve more sponsor support) Jake’s got some serious skills – especially when it comes to riding real mountains. And best of all, he’s got that easy lack of ego that seems to come with being kiwi. So unlike some American riders we could name he’s pretty modest about it all.
