The organisers of the British Snow Tour are throwing a big ol’ party at the Castleford Sno-dome outside Leeds to celebrate the start of the 2009-10 season.
With the inaugural indoor slopestyle contest of the season taking place on Saturday October 3rd, the honchos in charge of the tour have decided to throw open the slopestyle course to all comers on the Friday night. They will also be putting on a big party later in the evening.
The park setup is sure to be one of the best seen on these shores this year, with two kicker lines meaning there’s something for everyone, regardless of ability. On top of this they’ll have a Rookie park laid out, with pros giving instruction to those who’ve just started learning their freestyle.
On top of this, the organisers will be giving away prizes for those who ride in fancy dress. They said: “As an added extra if you’re fully kitted up as a stereotypical Brit you’ll receive a free session on the slopes! We’re thinking – Punks, Chavs, Pearly Kings and Queens, Flat caps and tweed – or how about a top hat and tails!!
“And check this out….anyone in riding full fancy dress will receive a FREE 1 hour slope pass to use throughout October!!”
Combine this with clothes stalls, screenings of snowboard films, graffiti artists and sets from DJs Angel, Poultergeist Mark and Badly Dressed Boy, and you have a recipe for a near-perfect party.
