27-year-old Janne Korpi was going to follow his father, Pekka, and become a famous harness rider, but instead his brother persuaded him over to the dark side and he picked up a snowboard.
He’s a three-time Olympian in the halfpipe, with several other gongs to his name over a long and prosperous career. In 2012 he was the winner of the Creative Use Of Space award in the Canadian Open hlafpipe, thanks to a beautiful alley-oop 540 nosegrab.
