Spy Optics – big in the eyewear game – have never been ones to be pegged down in just snowsports. Operating in surfing, motocross, rally driving, wakeboarding and much more, you’re just as likely to see a pair of sunnies coming out of their factory as a freshly polished oversize lens.
Based out of California, they’ve been pumping out quality eye-protection since 1994 – and now also cover Audio, Apparel and even backpacks, so you can carry all the frames you see fit.
Spy ran into a spot of bother in September 2012 after erecting a billboard campaign that’s tagline was “Happy to sit on your face”. As you can imagine, the local fun police/residents were not amused and the company had to remove the billboard after a mere few days on display.
It caused such a ruckus that even our fair, non-bigoted and well respected Daily Mail newspaper reported on it… Spy replaced the billboard a few days later with a billboard that read “Happiness is coming…” Good to see they’ve still got their tongue in cheek.
