Dew Tour 2012 slopestyle semi final highlights

The Dew Tour has been one of the staple snowboard competitions over in the US for a while now, attracting mainstream media attention and a whole host of some of the world’s best snowboarders, including Mr. Shaun White we might add. While previous tours have consisted of several legs at different resorts (as the name implies), this year the organisers have instead opted to hold just one big shebang in Breckenridge Colorado.

Wednesday saw the start of the snowboard action with the men’s slopestyle kicking off under blue skies. The course was epic as always, including a variety of rail and kicker hits to keep riders on their toes. With the likes of Sebastien Toutant, Mark McMorris, Chas Guldemond, Eric Willet, Torstein Horgmo, Roope Tonteri and Stale Sandbech all rocking up to compete, the top twelve spots that would secure riders a place in the finals were always going to be hotly contended. Jamie Nicholls was the lone rider reppin’ for ol’ blighty and managed to put down a stormer of a first run, which held him in the top twelve until he was just bumped out by Seb Toots in the very last run. Norwegian stomper Torstein Horgmo finished up in first place with a second run that included a massive switch backside 1260.

Check out the highlights video above for just some of the bangers that were stomped and to get a look at the course. The final will be taking place this Sunday.

In other Dew Tour news Jamie Anderson predictably qualified in first place but unfortunately Brits Aimee Fuller and Jenny Jones weren’t able break into the all-important top 6. Aimee apparently went for her double backflip in her first run but wasn’t able to ride away from it. Scotty Lago finished top of the table in the halfpipe semis with Shaun White hot on his heels in second place. Expect the finals to go off!
