Japan Journals Episode 4

In the fourth and final episode of Japan Journals (you can catch up on the previous three here), the Kiwi fellas that keep us entertained over the long, snowless northern hemisphere summer months with their Diaries Down Under edits head up to the Northern-most parts of Japan for yet more pow cruisin’ (seriously, what else?).

Starting in Niseko the crew head up North to Wakkanai which is as far as the Japanese roads will take them and is only a 5 hour ferry ride from Russia. Once there it’s all about one-foot shenanigans (one of the last things we’d ever consider doing when landing in deep powder) backcountry double corks and, erm, going swimming in search of crabs in the freezing waters of the Sea of Japan.

It’s a fitting end to a another strong series from Nick Hyne and the gang and we look forward to the inevitable return of Diaries Down Under in the summer. We’re sure it’ll be heaps good (said in our best Antipodean accent, naturally).
