Undoubtably he was the rider’s champion at Sochi – and an unexpected Gold Medal on the world’s stage has now firmly cemented him into the conscious of the broader snowboarding community, and even now many members of the general public (as you’ll see above).
So now, nearly a year on from the events in Russia – Sage takes a look back at the madness that was his Olympic year. From the early days when he wasn’t sure he’d make qualification – to the post-Gold media storm that no-one could have predicted would surround a member of the Lick The Cat crew.
