Rails & Jibbing

7 Relatively Simple Rail Tricks You Should Try

HOW MANY OF THESE CAN YOU ALREADY DO?

Most people find the frontside boardslide harder than the backside version, but not massively so. It’s also an absolute classic –  up there with the method, the backside 180 or the backside rodeo – so it’s well worth having a go at.

1) Approach with the rail to your frontside (this is what makes it an FS boardslide) at a decent speed.

2) Pop onto the rail and spin your board round 90 degrees. Turning your shoulders the other way helps – imagine you’re doing a backside shifty.

3) Keeping your board totally flat (you don’t want to snag now) slide to the end of the rail – keeping your eyes on it will help you keep your body position – then just pop off and bring your board back round to regular.
