5 of the Best Snow Festivals for 2013-14

If Snowbombing has somehow passed you by completely, imagine a neon injected, Jaeger fuelled fresher’s week on the mountain and you’ll be some of the way there. Despite winter festivals popping up on the hill left, right and center, as Snowbombing goes into its 15th year it still manages to stand its ground as the king of carnage.

Even the potentially mundane task of travelling to Mayrhofen has been carefully thought out and pimped up with a road trip, a rather tempting excuse to add on a few extra days of partying to an already packed out week.

The eclectic music acts, which in the past have included Kasabian, Rudimental and Ms Dynamite are only part of the Snowbombing story, with other entertainment including street parties, sky high igloos and an insane amount of dressing up.

Despite its heavy emphasis on partying hard day in day out, Mayrhofen is set up perfectly for late season snow. The area of Zillertal boasts an impressive five ski areas, so you’d be hard pushed to find a good excuse not to venture out on the mountain, no matter how bad that five day hangover is.
