The Brits love to flock to Val d’Isere, but in reality neighbouring resort Tignes is a far safer bet for early season snow. Not only does Tignes always make a solid effort to get its lifts churning as early as the conditions allow, but there’s also the very reliable Grande Motte glacier, standing at 3,456 meters, to fall back on until the rest of the ski area gets a solid covering.
Planned opening: Glacier – 12th October / Espace Killy – 30th November 2013
Early season 6 day pass: 227 Euros
