Top 44 Snowboard Jackets (and Pants) of 2013/2014

Bonfire gained a rep for making classy kit with eye-catching designs that grabbed the attention of mega brand Salomon. The steezy Tanner jacket (left) has an environmentally friendly waterproof outer coating in line with the company’s green initiative, while the Safari jacket for women (right) will protect you from any pow spray with its top-end 20,000mm rating. Perfect paired with the Maddison pants on show.

ABOUT BONFIRE SNOWBOARDING

Established in 1989 “in the shadow of Mount Hood” in Oregon, Bonfire was set up by a Pacific North-Western shred-head named Brad Steward who’d been riding himself since 1978. It quickly developed a reputation for making classy kit, and its designs (and impressive turnover) caught the eye of the bosses at Salomon Snowboards. Despite the fact that it’s now owned by Salomon (and worn by a lot of their team riders) Bonfire remains a separate company, and its outerwear is still designed by a separate team. The brand produces everything from Louif Paradis-friendly street wear to the kind of thing that David Benedek can hike and camp out in.
