ADIDAS BLAUVELT SNOWBOARD BOOTS REVIEW

This winter will see the launch of Adidas’ first ever range of snowboard boots. The move might have seemed an obvious one for the brand, especially given their reputation as a well-respected maker of skate shoes. But this launch has actually been a long time coming: It’s more than two years since Adidas first started talking to Jake Blauvelt, and this signature model is the result of lengthy consultation and testing to perfect the product.
Unsurprisingly, given the amount of time he spends riding burly backcountry lines, Blauvelt’s boot is a high-end, stiff flexing model. As the man himself told us “it feels super-responsive” and offers a ton of support to the ankles, perfect if you’re into hitting big drops and shredding at speed. They’ve also added a Recco emitter, which can be detected by avalanche transceivers – a piece of tech usually only seen in outerwear. Style-wise Blauvelt, a football lover, (and an Arsenal fan, we’re claiming it!) has taken inspiration from Adidas’s high-performance Predator boots. These don’t come cheap, but they ooze class.
